Soho Ceiling

Marset | Joan Gaspar

Soho is presented as a statement, in recognition of the merits of the lamps traditionally used in markets, taverns and cafeterias.

After studying different volumes, proportions and materials, new uses and lighting effects have emerged.

Through the use of rotary molded polyethylene, Marset has been able to produce this fixture at scale.
With a diameter of 44″, the largest size has been conceived to centre a room, while the 22″ or 15″ models are ideal for lighting passageways and corridors. In the translucent white version, the whole structure emits ambient light.

Also available IP65 with a fixed stem for wet locations.

Brand

Marset

Marset was established in 1942 as a family business, not making lighting, but as a foundry. That foundation in casting metals did eventually segue into lighting design, however, with Francisco Marset formally establishing Marset Illuminacion in 1965.

The decades spent experimenting with and molding metal translated well into the contemporary lighting industry: manipulating all kinds of materials to create unexpected, atmospheric lighting effects.
