Pipeline System
Designed by Caine Heintzman for A-N-D
Pipeline is a study in controlled expression. A modular toolkit, engineered to be composed—not simply installed. With a minimal vocabulary of parts, designers can articulate everything from finely tuned linear runs to large-scale suspended sculptures. The system is simultaneously discreet and architectural, warm and precise. It offers the opportunity to scale light to the ambition of the space—whether the intent is subtle intrigue, or a bold spatial statement.

STANDARD PROJECT — Office
Maximizing the spatial canvas, Pipeline adapts with ease—from a sculptural wall sconce at the entrance to a linear ceiling element that provides ambient illumination. A secondary run along the seating subtly defines zones, creating separation without the need for signage. Light becomes both guide and gesture, shaping the experience of the space.
STANDARD PROJECT — Retail
Pipeline becomes architectural. Its structure defines details, dropping light precisely over key displays to highlight products. Continuity carries through the room, with Ceiling/Wall runs accentuating millwork and perimeter displays, turning illumination into both guide and gesture.
STANDARD PROJECT — Hotel
Pipeline guides the journey. A linear run begins at the lobby desk, subtly suggesting wayfinding toward the elevators. In the café, a separate installation delineates a new zone without partitions, the linear path over the coffee bar leading guests from order to seating, culminating under a larger Pipeline arrangement that defines the communal space.
Specifying the Pipeline System for your project?
With local support from Standard Shop and technical guidance from the A‑N‑D design team—including 3D files, IES files, and full documentation—the Pipeline system begins as a simple idea and can be realized as a striking architectural feature or a subtle, deliberate gesture.
Pipeline, designed by Caine Heintzman for A-N-D, began as the linear pendant Pipeline 125 in 2014. Since then, the collection has evolved into a versatile system encompassing linear pendants, the CM series, chandeliers, ceiling and wall-mounted applications, and even floor and table lamps—offering a full spectrum of possibilities for both architectural gestures and subtle lighting expressions.
